A good way to start advocating for people with special needs is to get involved with The Arc of Oakland County. The Arc holds Town Hall meetings in the Metro Detroit area to share news of legislative changes that effect developmentally disabled individuals in southeast Michigan.
If you’d like to be notified of upcoming Town Hall meetings, letter writing campaigns, informal “meet-and-greets” with legislators, and other advocacy opportunities, ask to be put on our email list. We will never sell your email to anyone and we won’t bombard your inbox with emails. It’s one more opportunity for you to make a difference in the quality of life for developmentally disabled individuals.
