Leadership and Office Staff

Lisa A. Murrell, Executive Director

Lisa has been the Executive Director of Community Living Centers since September of 2010.  She came to CLC with 25 years of experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and has focused the past several years on ensuring that CLC carries on its mission to provide the highest quality services to their residents.  Lisa is a graduate of Central Michigan University.  She and her husband live in Livonia and together they enjoy traveling, Tiger’s baseball games, cooking and spending time with their four kids.

Nathalie Demers, Assistant Director

Nathalie has been with CLC since 1995. She started as a Direct Care Worker at House 1 while studying at Eastern Michigan University. She loved the residents and CLC so much she never left! As the years have passed, Nathalie has worked as a Medical Coordinator at House 1, then the AILP/SILP Coordinator for a few years until she became the Assistant Director in 2007. Nathalie’s favorite night of the year is the Annual Dinner Dance & Heart Awards, which is when all the people she loves are in one big room dancing and having fun!

Jeremy Little, Human Resources Director

Jeremy joined CLC in June 2014 as the Human Resources Director.  Jeremy is an alumni of Central Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and came to CLC with over 20 years of HR Experience.  He is a dedicated professional with a passion for doing what is best for CLC’s residents.  In his spare time, Jeremy coaches high school wrestling, gardens, and does DIY projects.

Emily Karlichek, Marketing and Development Director

Emily joined the CLC team in November 2015. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Emily has had previous roles in nonprofits as a museum executive director and community manager for a national health organization; she came to CLC with many years of experience working for and volunteering with a wide variety of nonprofit groups and causes. She dove right in to the Greater Farmington community, engaging with the Chamber of Commerce in several groups, as well as by creating and chairing their first Young Professionals Committee. Outside of her work at CLC, she enjoys creative hobbies and spending time with her husband Mark and their two year old son, Killian.

Wendy Brown, Accounting Associate 

Wendy has been with CLC for 7 years, and is currently responsible for all accounts receivable.  Wendy says the bonus part of her job is getting to see the residents when they come into the office; she loves each and everyone’s unique personalities, and they always manage to put a smile on her face.

Lisa Switlik, Administrative Assistant

Lisa joined the CLC team in November of 2015 as our Administrative Assistant.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, she is the friendly face who will greet you when you walk through the door and she loves helping out wherever she is needed.  Lisa has been married for 19 years to her best friend and they have three rockin’ kids!  Lisa is so proud to be a part of the CLC family and is thankful to work with such wonderful people!

Gwen Jacques, Administrative Assistant 

Gwen has been a part of the CLC team since February 2015. Gwen says CLC is a wonderful environment to work in because everyone here is so caring. As a staff member, she feels as though she is treated like family and the clients are as well. She enjoys coming in to a job she loves! Gwen also works as a cook at a private tennis club in Farmington Hills, which she also enjoys very much.

Barbara Schuler, Office Manager

Barb began her career at CLC as a bookkeeper in November of 2003 and is currently the Office Manager.  She enjoys a variety of responsibilities in the main office but her main focus is managing client financial records for their personal needs as well as outside reporting agencies.

Julie Koehler, Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist 

Julie is currently working in Payroll and Accounts Payable and has been with Community Living Centers since October of 2012.  She enjoys seeing all of the residents’ smiling faces when they visit the office!
