University Program

Whether you are a Spartan, a Wolverine, a Chippewa or a Flying Dutchman, CLC is there to help.  CLC not only supports adults in the Metro Detroit area, but we are also big fans of our outstanding Michigan Universities! We give many students with developmental disabilities the opportunity to attend their favorite school by providing them with the day-to-day assistance needed to not only succeed in their careers, but to enjoy college life while doing it.

Blending in, being a part of their community, and wearing their favorite school colors is what college is all about for these students.   CLC hires fellow university students who show interest in or are pursuing a possible career in the health care industry.  20 hours per week or 24/7, we are by their side providing personal care and assisting with daily living tasks, all while ensuring fun. Peers walking together to classes or the library, rooting for their favorite teams at football games, or just hanging out in the dorm room watching Netflix – these are all invaluable moments in the life of a college student.

It is our goal for these young adults to achieve their lifelong dreams of attending major universities to pursue their careers. Whether their paths lead to becoming a lawyer, a teacher, an engineer or an analyst, CLC is helping a generation of disabled students achieve their goals and live their best lives.
